Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ordered the building of Al Murabba Fort in 1948 during his rule of the Eastern Region The fort is made of clay bricks and looks rectangular in shape,

It consists of a two-storey squared tower and is considered to be a prime site of protection.Trunks of palm trees were used to support the higher ceiling of the Fort. The fort was named after its square shape and it was known as “Murabba Zayed ”
